Supai to Havasu Campground

Just past the village the trail parallels the stream & the sound of rushing water becons. In August of 2008 a significant flood rearranged Navajo falls into "New Navajo Falls" (not shown)& "Rock Falls" (below) both these names are temporary. Much of the area around "New Navajo Falls" looked like an open pit mine with unstable slopes & bare earth. It must have been quite the flood.
Due to the harsh light I decided to come back & shoot this area later.
See the figure left of the top of the falls? He walked out a little less than halfway across & jumped in to the pool below. Yikes!

I also passed Havasu falls but resolved to come back later after setting up camp. It too was changed in the flood, from a double fall to a single.
I set up my campsite & then climbed up the little bank beside my chosen site. Just about stepped on this guy... at least 3" long with his tail curled up.
I didn't feel like lugging a tent & hadn't brought my solo tent so I set up a tarp just in case it rained. Especially after finding the scorpion I figured on sleeping on the picnic table anyway.
