Tessa

This is Shannon’s new dog, Tessa. I say Shannon’s dog because she kinda picked her out, named her, and she’s doing most of the walking and the training right now. We are told she is part Golden Retriever and part Collie and we got her from Heaven Can Wait, a local rescue organization. She’s a runner so we have to watch the gates real close, hopefully we can cure her of that as that’s the reason she ended up on the block in the first place… wouldn’t stay home.

Shannon’s been training her and making good progress already including some off leash work! These pictures were taken back in May but I find her to be quite camera shy (actually afraid of the camera)… Better shots upcoming.

I haven’t spent enough time with her yet to grow too attached. She is, after all, taking Lucky’s place and that is a ‘big’ collar to fill.

Moose Mountain

A solo outing June 14 mostly for exercise. After all this rain I was really feeling the need to get out. Moose Mountain elevation 2437m, 14.6 km, +-670m gain.
Looking up toward the summit. A little knee-deep postholing but not too bad.
View to the west.
Looking back from the 'false summit' toward the lookout.

Late 'Prairie Crocus' in the lower meadows. Also saw some Shooting Stars, Moss Campion and a few others. The season is late this year.

Graduation

Some day Mike is going to come to me and say "Dad, why aren't there any good pictures of me at my grad?" And I will show him a selection of shots like this and say "Because you were being Jerky McJerkface and most of them turned out like this."

But it was a good day, a fun time was had by all. And when all is said and done this photo will probably remind me more about that day than the cheesy posed shots the pros got.
