Ya recon these look like people? According to local legend these are a father with a baby on his back & the mother bringing up the rear. Legend tells that when the ancestors began to outstrip the available resources the people split in two. One group decided to travel east to find a new home. The man & woman regretted leaving & upon looking back one last time were turned to stone. Actually I'm not sure these are the right figures but based on the description I think I got it right.
The Wigleeva again.
The ruins of a traditional house.
This ruin is on the edge of town & is representative of the more traditional housing that was used before the government housing. Perhaps there are some in the village still in use, I only traveled down the main route through town & didn't see any.
Leaving town back up the canyon...
How cool is that?
Something tells me you wouldn't want to get caught in a flash flood in this wash / canyon.
Out of the wash, crushed the switchbacks in one push & on the road again. Spent the night back at the Grand Canyon Caverns, their showers are that good.
