Our morning meeting place, Dead Horse Point State Park.
Right between Arches NP & Canyonlands NP this park provides a view of some interesting goosenecks in the Colorado River & views out over the afformentioned parks. A great intro to the landscape of the area.
From here it was into Moab for some groceries & fuel (where, incidentally, if want to fit in you'd better be riding a bike or have one tied to your SUV...) & then on south to begin the adventure. It was awful to be in the Moab area & not explore it... but I'll be back.
