The GDT or Great Divide Trail runs from the U.S. border north 1200km to Kakwa Lake crossing the continental divide over 30 times. It is a combination of roads, trails, and routes with no official status as the 'GDT' and perhaps that's ok. Hank and I covered a modest section of this route over five days (including the trails high point at 2590m) and a good chunk of it was pristine alpine that wouldn’t hold up well to the masses who are often attracted to high profile trails (Like the West Coast Trail etc.) July 31 to Aug 4 with more pictures to come when I get time.
